Pittwater to Sanctuary Cove

Our friend Len (r) and Royce (c) from Seawind joined us for our trip from Pittwater to Brisbane. This was my first taste of offshore sailing and I felt a certain amount of trepidation as we left with a gale warning forecast for the next day! We had a great time - even though we and had 38 knots on the nose at one stage. The wind was strong from the north all the way to Coffs Harbour where we stopped for a good nights sleep. From there to the Gold Coast there was very little wind and we gave the motors a good run. We had to keep moving as Seawind was using our boat at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.

Pittwater

Our first sail was up the coast to Pittwater. This is a beautiful area and we wished we had more than a few days to explore the area. We had a couple of very quiet nights in America Bay on Pittwater. This is a great spot.

Our new Seawind 1000XL

We have been waiting 12 months but our new boat is finally ready. We flew down to Sydney and went to Birkenhead Point marina to see Next Phase for the first time. That's Steve Austin (who sold us our Seawind) on the right with Warren.
